I am proud to announce that I will be participating in Bad Dads, an art show tribute to the films of Wes Anderson (as nearly every Wes Anderson character has family issues, notably father issues!). Above you will find the pieces that I am contributing to the show, inspiration taken from his stop motion film, "The Fantastic Mr. Fox". The show will debut with a special Halloween party on Saturday, October 30th at 8pm in San Francisco’s newest art space, LoPo Gallery (http://lopogallery.com/).
For the opening expect a bevy of limited edition prints, a full bar, and a set by SF's own Dj Theory (http://www.facebook.com/dj
Original artwork and prints will be made available after the opening through the Spoke Art website: http://www.spokeart.net/

"Jest in Time: The Phylogenesis of Clowns" featured on Hi
Hi!
I was delighted to learn that the show I am participating in called "Jest in Time: The Phylogenesis of Clowns" at Distinction Gallery was featured on the Hi-Fructose Site! Check it out here!
Distinction Gallery and curator Dio Sumagaysay recently joined forces to put together a fundraiser show benefiting ArtHatch, a non-profit youth art organization. Entitled "Jest In Time: The Phylogenesis of Clowns", the show features not only an interesting theme (clowns!) but also puts a twist on the traditional gallery sales structure by offering all works at a potentially discounted auction-style format or through the standard buy it now retail price. View selected works from the show, as well as a couple opening night pictures, below.

On May 15, 2010, Elemental Productions and Royal-T proudly present, Aftershock LA: A Benefit for Build Change at Royal-T Cafe in Culver City. 100% of proceeds earned and 50% of art sales will go towards Build Change. Help us shake the quake and party for a cause! Aftershock LA is going to be a shockingly awesome event where the Los Angeles community can come together, have a good time, learn about earthquake safety, stock up on supplies, and raise money to help Build Change build change internationally. The live event will include a Silent Art Auction, Earthquake Safety Den, special performance by Rosalba and the Zahira Belly Dancers, music by DJ King Wo, DIY craft workshop by The Urban Craft Center, game tables, dancing, and much more.
The one-of-kind benefit party will take place Saturday, May 15 at 7:30 p.m. – 11:30 p.m. at Royal/T, the playful fusion of spaces that offers an eclectic mix of retail, art exhibit and is Los Angeles’ first Japanese-style “cosplay” cafĂ©, located at 8910 Washington Blvd., Culver City, CA 90232. Tickets are available now, ages 21+, for $20.00 at www.aftershockla.com and $25 at the door, cash only. Admission includes FREE artist designed bag, signature “Ginger Soju Lemonade Trembler” drink ticket, and unlimited photobooth pictures.
Dr. Elizabeth Hausler, the CEO of Build Change exclaims, “There is still so much need for both rebuilding and education on earthquake-resistant construction in Indonesia and China. And now I’m on the ground in Haiti where we need to urgently focus on moving families out of tents and into permanent, safe homes. The need around the world is huge; this event couldn’t happen at a more appropriate time.”
